Our Host Homes

The full proverb is often quoted as “It takes a village to raise a child.”

It Takes a Village Meaning Explained:

The saying emphasizes that a child’s upbringing is a communal effort involving many different people and groups, from parents to teachers to neighbors and grandparents.
The whole idea underscores the belief that the collective involvement of a community is essential in achieving a certain goal or completing a task, like raising a kid. Essentially, it’s a friendly reminder that asking for help with hard things is okay because many hands make light work.

The anime Naruto resonated with me when I was coming up with a name for our very first group home.  His story is filled with hardship, sacrifice and grit from Naruto himself.  His father sacrificed himself and sealed the nine tail fox in his son to protect the village.  The village was then left to care for this orphan and his upbringing.  Each of our homes is named after a village from this anime because I truly believe that it takes a village (team) to support, educate and care for an individual in services.  Each home represents a communal effort that involves many members of an individuals' team.  Success in services doesn't come from one member of the team it comes from every members combined effort.
